Accelerando believes that teaching music is not just a profession, but a passion. The strongest teacher is one who is not only accomplished on his/her instrument, but who is also trained in HOW to teach, and loves doing so.
Katie Ribik is an accomplished pianist and guitarist with over 20 years playing experience who received her B.A. in Music from the University of Virginia in 2003. She went on to receive both her teaching certification in music education through Montclair State University, along with her Orff-Schulwerk Level 1 certification at Boston University. During her 5 years as a K-6 general music/choral teacher and private piano/guitar teacher, Katie discovered that the only thing she loves more than music is being able to share her passion with her students and help them discover the power music can have in their own lives.
Accelerando is now accepting beginner to intermediate students, ages 5 and up, for piano or guitar lessons in your home or Accelerando's studio, located at the home of Katie Ribik, owner/instructor, in Old Town, Alexandria, VA.
