What Does a Typical Birthday Party Look Like?
Accelerando's birthday parties work best with smaller groups. We do not use any amplification as we are trying to create an intimate "parent and me" music and movement experience.
Every party starts out with an energetic Welcome Song where we all get to be very silly! We then move into fingerplays using puppets and a guitar sing-a-long with a familiar tune or two like "The Wheels on the Bus". By this point, the kiddos are ready to get up and move around! Accelerando Music's movement and action songs are easy to learn, goofy, and super fun!
The fun continues and the excitement increases as we bring out rhythm instruments! Can you turn your drum into a steering wheel on your car? Can you shake your maraca while you jump, and then FREEZE? These are just some examples of the types of songs and activities we do with rhythm instruments.
After we put the instruments away, the fun continues with songs using scarves. Maybe we'll do a magic trick, or throw them around like baseballs, or play a game of peekaboo. In addition to scarves, we do have a parachute that we can bring to parties, space permitting.
The party concludes with a goodbye song. We are also happy to lead your party guests in the birthday song for your child if you can plan to have the cake ready immediately after our program concludes.
